By accessing the Door King website, purchasing our products, accepting delivery, or signing off on installation, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. These terms apply to all customers, online users, installers, and contractors.
1. Agreement to Terms
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must refrain from using our website or purchasing our products. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
2. Definitions
- “Door King”, “we”, “our” refers to Olympic Security t/a Door King.
- “Customer”, “you” refers to any person or business purchasing or using our products or services.
- “Products” refers to doors, automation, hardware, motors, and accessories sold by Door King.
- “Installation” refers to any fitting or onsite work carried out by Door King or approved contractors.
3. Product Material Disclosure
3.1 Stainless Steel Grades
Our stainless steel doors are manufactured from 304-grade stainless steel, which is not marine-grade. Tea-staining, discolouration, or surface corrosion may occur in coastal or high-humidity areas and is not considered a manufacturing defect. Regular maintenance is required.
3.2 Cold Rolled Steel Products
Some doors are made from cold rolled steel, which is not suitable for harsh coastal environments. Customers must enquire in-store to ensure they select the correct material for their area. Door King is not liable for incorrect product selection.
3.3 Coated & Galvanised Steel
Powder-coated and galvanised steel requires ongoing maintenance. Scratches, chips, exposed metal, or grinding marks may lead to corrosion. Environmental corrosion is not covered under warranty.
4. Coastal Environment Disclosure
Customers in coastal areas acknowledge that salt exposure accelerates corrosion. 304 stainless steel, galvanised steel, and powder-coated finishes may experience discolouration or corrosion over time. Aluminium or 316 stainless steel is recommended for first-line coastal homes. Coastal corrosion is not classified as a defect.
5. Warranties & Guarantees
5.1 General Warranty
Door King warrants that products are free from manufacturing defects at the time of sale.
5.2 Warranty Exclusions
The following are not covered under warranty:
- Environmental corrosion or tea-staining
- Damage from incorrect installation by third parties
- Water damage or flooding
- Impact damage, forced entry, or vandalism
- Rust on 304 stainless steel in coastal areas
- Wear and tear, misuse, lack of maintenance
- Scratches, chips, dents after collection or installation
- Electrical damage from power surges, load shedding, or lightning
5.3 Battery Warranty
All batteries carry a 1-month guarantee only.
5.4 Power Surge & Lightning Damage
No warranty applies to damage caused by load shedding, voltage spikes, lightning, or incorrect wiring. Surge protection is the customer's responsibility.
5.5 Motor Warranty
Motors require annual servicing. Failure to service voids the warranty. Damage from water, insects, rodents, or incorrect installation is not covered.
6. Orders, Cancellations & Lay-By
6.1 Order Confirmation
An order becomes confirmed once payment is received or written approval is given.
6.2 Cancellation Fees
- Orders cancelled after 48 hours incur a 30% cancellation fee.
- Custom orders are non-refundable once production has begun.
- Lay-by cancellations incur a 30% cancellation fee.
These terms apply unless otherwise agreed with management.
7. Returns, Refunds & Exchanges
Online returns are allowed within 7 days of delivery.
- All approved returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee.
- Items must be unused and in original packaging.
- Refunds are processed via EFT within 7–14 working days.
- Custom items, installed products, cut hardware, and used electronics are non-returnable.
Door King reserves the right to deny returns that do not meet these conditions.
8. Delivery, Collection & Installation
8.1 Delivery
Delivery dates are estimates and may be affected by supplier delays, customs, transport, or stock availability. Door King is not liable for delays outside its control.
8.2 Customer Responsibility
The customer must ensure safe access, handling space, and parking availability during delivery. Door King is not liable for damage caused by customers handling their own goods.
8.3 Collection Sign-Off
Once the customer signs for collection, products are deemed received in perfect condition. Door King is not liable for damage during customer transport, offloading, or storage.
8.4 Installation Sign-Off
Once installation is signed off, the job is considered complete. Door King is not liable for any subsequent damage including building movement, leaks, storms, or impact.
9. Maintenance Responsibility
Customers must:
- Clean exterior doors monthly (especially coastal areas)
- Use stainless steel protective sprays
- Ensure no standing water accumulates near frames
- Service motors annually
Lack of maintenance voids related warranty claims.
10. Website Terms of Use
10.1 Intellectual Property
All text, images, logos, and content on the Door King website are the property of Door King and may not be copied without written permission.
10.2 Accuracy of Information
We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee error-free descriptions, pricing, or imagery. We reserve the right to correct errors without prior notice.
11. Limitation of Liability
Door King is not liable for:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits or business interruptions
- Structural defects or building issues
- Environmental corrosion or climatic effects
- Third-party installation faults
- Storm, water, or flood damage
- Any claims after sign-off on collection or installation
Our liability is limited strictly to repair or replacement of confirmed manufacturing defects.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
13. Dispute Resolution
Disputes must be submitted in writing. Door King will review and respond. If unresolved, the matter may proceed to mediation, arbitration, or legal action as applicable.
